Should 360 feeedback be used as part of the appraisal process?

One of the benefits of using 360 feedback is that they can improve the quality of the discussions that a manager has with their direct report. They provide a framework for the ongoing discussion the they will have during their 1-2-1’s. 360’s should not be linked to compensation as doing so threaten the likelihood that raters will give honest feedback
