360 Degree Feedback for Education Professionals

The Educational Professional 360° feedback survey has been designed with those working within educational settings in mind. The survey is aimed at providing those without people management responsibility with an insight into the how others perceive how they operate on a day-to-day basis. It does not assess teaching ability, but rather the behaviours associated with managing themselves, making decisions, planning, monitoring progress, and building and maintaining relationships.

The Education Senior Leader survey gathers self-assessment responses and feedback from manager, direct reports and other key stakeholders relating to the 11 behaviours of the Schroder High Performance Competency Framework. There’s a particular emphasis on behaviours measuring and monitoring progress as well as building a culture that supports and nurtures learning behaviours. It uses a five-point scale, to enable the rating of 77 statements so that the individual can get a really clear picture, through their feedback report, of their strengths and development needs. Two free text questions encourage the individual to think about their strengths and development needs, and enable the feedback respondents to provide greater detail of the impact of the individuals behavioural strengths and development areas.

There are two versions of this 360; one for primary and secondary education and one for tertiary education.

360 and 180 degree feedback is a simple but powerful way for an individual to find out about their strengths and potential development needs. By comparing feedback from a range of sources our surveys also allow individuals to identify how perceptions might differ across a range of people with whom the individual interacts on a day-to-day basis.

Areas of use: 360 degree feedback surveys can be used on an adhoc basis for individuals, on annual basis to link in with performance reviews or used as part of a development programme where it integrates into interventions designed to develop leadership capability.

Leadership behaviours:

The survey measures individuals against the Schroder High Performance Management Competency Framework; a well validated, robust and highly reliable tool for measuring performance. The framework consists of 11 behaviours proven to be associated with high performing individuals and organisations. The behaviours are grouped into 4 clusters covering thinking and decision-making; working with others and developing capability; influencing and inspiring others; and planning, goal setting and monitoring performance.

Simple and efficient administration: All of our surveys are delivered online and can be managed in house via our survey administration platform or we can deliver the project for you via our bureau service.

The delegate experience is simple and hassle free. The individual requiring feedback receives a link to their nomination form where they can enter the names and email addresses of those they would like feedback from. Once submitted, our system will automatically email the feedback givers requesting they provide feedback via a web-link to the individual’s survey. The individual will receive their own link to their self-survey for completion.

Surveys take no longer than 20 minutes to complete and can be saved and returned to at any point.

Gaining valuable insights – reporting and feedback sessions:

Our feedback reports have been designed by our experienced consultants to provide the individuals receiving feedback with clear and concise results.

The report walks the individual through their data from top level information through to question detail, encouraging the individual to consider how they can make use of their strengths and recognise where their behaviour and actions may be having a negative impact. They have been designed to enable the individual to use the information gathered in order to maximise their performance by encouraging them to maintain their strengths whilst focussing development on those areas that could improve their performance.

Feeding back the results: Almost as important as the survey is how the individual will be presented with their feedback report. Our years of experience has shown us that the most value is gained when the individual has a feedback session with a trained facilitator. That facilitator might be a trained member of your HR or L&D team; or it could be an external facilitator provided by us.

Group Reporting: When the survey is administered to a group of individuals we can produce a group reports that can be used to provide HR and senior management with valuable insights into the overall capability of the group. This information can be used for training needs analysis purposes as well as a myriad of other purposes such as team development, and informing recruitment decisions when looking to recruit into a team.
