The SHL Occupational Questionnaire (OPQ32) is a widely-used personality instrument providing detailed information on 32 specific personality characteristics

Overview

The OPQ32 provides in-depth insight across key competencies required in graduate, management and leadership positions. It is supported by over 50 norm groups allowing specific role, level, industry and cultural group comparisons to be made. OPQ is available in normative and ipsative formats (OPQ32i and OPQ32n).

Using OPQ32

The OPQ32 is suitable for:

  • Selection

  • Training needs analysis and individual  development

  • Career counselling

  • Succession planning

  • Team building and development

  • Organisational change

Standardisation

OPQ has been translated into many languages and is available in over 30 countries with over 80 regional norm groups. The majority of norm groups are user norms intended for use within various occupational groups, ranging from undergraduates to senior management. The UK general population sample (n=2,028) is an example of a population norm where careful sampling has been carried out to make sure that all groups are fairly represented in the sample.

The test conforms to British Psychological Society and American Psychological Association guidelines on personality test construction and use.

Accreditation Requirement

In order to access the OPQ32 reports users must hold SHL accreditation in this instrument. If this is not held Getfeedback can provide a qualified consultant to provide feedback on the report at an additional cost.
