Advice for candidates
Performing well in psychometric tests
- Personality testing: there are no right or wrong answers! We strongly advise you to answer as honestly as possible. Attempts to 'fake good' or 'fake bad' are usually revealed to the recruiter through the test scoring.
- Aptitude testing: your numerical and/or verbal reasoning skills are about to be put to the test. Make sure you arrive at the test centre in good time or if you are completing the test online, allow plenty of time when you know you won't be interupted. Try to brush up on your skills before the test using practice questions or books, particularly if it is a long time since you last sat an exam.
Important note: we do not supply practice or sample questions of Critical Thinking Tests.
If you are looking for practice test questions, we recommend the book 'Critical Thinking for Students' by Roy van den Brink-Budgen, published by How To Books (www.howtobooks.co.uk) ISBN 1-85703-634-4, or other books on critical thinking. There is also a great deal of information, practice test papers, past papers available on the American GMAT tests, which are similar to Watson-Glaser.
'Cracking the GMAT' published by the Princeton Review ISBN 0-375-76194-2 is a good paper on the GMAT.
Both books are available from www.amazon.co.uk or from major bookshops.
